The Mirin Medical Practice

Repeat prescriptions

To order a repeat prescription you have a few options

  • You can call 0141 889 2604 at any time and press number 1 on your telephone keypad. Leave your name, date of birth, contact telephone number and the names of the items you require on a voicemail. And if you also have your prescriptions sent to a pharmacy please confirm which one.
  • If you have signed up for patient services you can order your prescriptions electronically via the patient services website.
  • You can bring your request to the surgery, when we are open. The is a drop box just after the 2nd door on entering or hand it to the receptionist.
  • Or you can post your request to the surgery.

Your prescription will be ready for collection at the practice 72 working hours after your order has been received. This may take longer if your prescription is collected by a pharmacy. Please also be aware of weekends and bank holidays as your order wont be processed until the next working day.

If you wish us to post your prescription to you if you provide us with a stamped addressed envelope.

If you run out of your repeat medication and the surgery is closed, it may be possible to obtain an emergency supply from your local pharmacy.  Please speak to the pharmacist for more information.

If you wish to order via patient access and you haven’t used this before you will need to first of all attend the practice with ID and we can give you an access code to be able to log in. Find out more about registering for online services.

Please keep your mobile number up to date as we will update patients and send texts to advise the status of prescription requests. And also if medication reviews are required. Find out how to update your contact details via the website by clicking here.

Medication reviews

Please note that your GP will sometimes require you to make a medication review appointment. These can happen periodically with certain medications, purely to check that you are prescribed the most appropriate medicines and that you get the best out of them. Tests may need to be carried out to make sure whether the medicine is working  or not. This could include blood pressure checks or blood tests. Monitoring may be necessary for the type of medication that you are on.

Pharmacy prescription service

Some pharmacies can order, collect and deliver your medication for you. Please approach your chosen chemist to discuss this.

Search for local pharmacy services.

Questions about your medication

If you have any queries about the medication prescribed you can ask your community pharmacist. Alternatively we have a pharmacy team that work directly with GPs practices who can advise on a wide range of things.
